This is Lesson 2 on Day 2 in the Teaching Alive Theme 5 unit aimed at ages 10-11 (Year 6 in England and Wales). It is the second lesson in a Maths teaching unit based around a video diary from a planet in space. We’ll be finding the difference in temperatures to help us survive on the planet. This can be extended to increase/decrease questions. An investigation option also provides an extension to add and subtract positive and negative numbers.

Please note, this project contains example videos and animations for school use only.

Access animations and activities below (when available). Use the buttons to see our theme overview, navigate to a prior or future lesson on Day 2 or to the Maths lesson on Day 3. Use the drop-down box to choose between lessons on Day 2.
