This is Lesson 2 on Day 5 in the Teaching Alive Theme 5 unit aimed at ages 10-11 (Year 6 in England and Wales). It is the fifth lesson in a Maths teaching unit based around a video diary from a planet in space. This lesson is a review of column multiplication (times tables or TU x U extending to consolidating ThHTU x U) as we investigate the idea of rescue after and how much food we have and how long that will last. In our next lesson we extend to ThHTU x TU.
