Sol 370, 2036 – So now the search was on for the correct battery, with the right dimensions and volume. Again, the computer came up trumps, but this time we were talking a 14-hour return trip, and the battery was in a generator nearly 3 metres underground!
The Mars scenery was now starting to turn from awe inspiring to downright boring! With help from my trusty locator, I found the spot and started to dig.
Right, good news, bad news and weird news. Starting with the good, I found the battery! The bad news was that the generator door was somehow bashed in, and the weird news was that there were some strange black 3D shape objects surrounding the generator- as if they were cuddling it for warmth. So, it seems like a Mars man had dug up 3 metres of sand, broken open a generator and hidden his weird Mars ornaments?! I collected them up anyways, and brought them back to study and test. If I can contact mission control, they will love this. xx
