Sol 363, 2036 – Well, I don’t know where to start. We knew there was a storm coming, a storm that endangered our safety on Mars. Mission control ordered our evacuation back to the shuttle.

We couldn’t have guessed how fast that this storm would engulf us. High winds caused chaos and ripped panels from our pods and uprooted our probes and satellites. It was in these conditions, as a group, we had to make a move for the MAV to evacuate the planet. Debris was flying everywhere and all I felt was something hit me in the stomach, then everything went black. I blacked out. It felt like a lifetime, but the next time I opened my eyes I was covered in sand. I managed to crawl up to my knees, and groggily looked up to see the actual storm approaching. A roar drew my attention, and I turned to see the MAV blast off to return to the shuttle, leaving me staring in disbelief…… I’m stranded- stranded on Mars.

I know they must have had their reasons. The MAV topples over in such high winds, and they had to leave or else we would have all been stuck here. My only option is to batten down, wait out the storm and then see where things lie. I’m worried about the pods and their protection. There is such an extreme temperature change from day to night.
